Fernandez sings the aria "Ebben? Ne andrò lontana", from Act I of Catalani's opera "La Wally." The piece is a haunting reverie on the theme of traveling alone and far from home. Catalani died in 1893 of consumption at the age of 39, only a year after the triumphant premiere of "La Wally" at La Scala. This performance plays a prominent role in the 1981 French romantic thriller, "Diva" - and is an excerpt from the DVD. Roger Ebert, film critic for the Chicago Sun Times, rates the movie 5 stars out of 5. This was one of the most frequently "favorited" videos on BestArts. The opera, based on a German novel, has a libretto by the young Luigi Illica, who went on to collaborate on the texts for "La Boheme," "Tosca" and "Madama Butterfly." It tells of a wild, headstrong Swiss mountain girl who loves one local huntsman and is loved by another. music: aria artist: acker bilk my comments about this video I believe in the creation account in Genesis and although I am sure those who think otherwise could ask me questions to which I could not give adequate answers, this in no way would change my faith that all we see anywhere in the universe - on earth or out in the vastness of space has been created by the God of the bible. I do not know how the universe ends - in a way I am not too bothered - it would be interesting to know but not vital - the important thing for me is having an inner assurance that God created it at a word by his son Jesus Christ and this video actually makes me stand in awe of the majesty of God and more than that I feel not a little tearful that God who created all this beauty sent Jesus Christ to this world to save sinners and that I am not only known personally to him, but for reasons known only to him, he so worked in my heart that with the hymnist I can truly say " you ask me how I know he lives - he lives within my heart". Not having intellectual understanding of many things cannot affect that nor take me away from him.

Directed by Lasse Gjertsen Copyrights: Casa Musicale Sonzogno, Milan, 2007 This is a music video for the italian cellist Giovanni Sollima, on two of his compositions; "Terra Aria" and "Concerto Rotondo". Enjoy! www.sonzogno.it So this is the project I've been working on for the last 5 months, and heres how part 1 of it is made: On the six arms parts, which by the way took most of the time to make, I filmed Sollima playing the different layers of cello after each other. I then edited the video frame by frame in Photoshop (remember, it's 25 frames per second of video), cutting his arms out from the other layers and pasting it on top, matching the movement of the cello. This was done ca 4000 times, by myself. The clouds were actually filmed in my backyard, sped up 1250 times. The birds we're filmed in my town, Larvik, Norway on clear blue sky, so that I could use blue screen keying to put them on top of the clouds. It's hard to notice, but the birds are moving in half speed slow motion. I also had to stabilize the motion of the birds, since I filmed it with handhelt camcorder. The sequence was cut together using After Effects and Premiere. The forest, river sequence was photographed in a forest in Arona, Italy. I took a picture ca. every five meters, and morphed the images together using WinMorph, matching the pace of the music. The zooming sequence is very hard to explain. Basically, the first 8 seconds after it starts zooming and when you see Mr Sollima's face is real <b>...</b>
